Cold Chain Logistics for Reference Materials
Why lyophilization helps
Freeze-drying removes water, which is the primary driver of degradation in peptide reference materials. Lyophilized material is substantially more tolerant of transit conditions than material in solution, which is why reference materials ship in that form.
Packing for transit
Orders are packed with insulated liners and, where the material and destination require it, cold packs sized to the expected transit window. Vials are secured against physical shock, and the outer packaging carries no description of the contents.
Receiving and storage
On arrival, material should be moved to the storage conditions listed on the product page. Short excursions during transit are expected and accounted for in packing design; prolonged storage outside the stated conditions is not covered by the reported specification.
Documentation
Each shipment references the lot supplied so the certificate of analysis on the product page corresponds to the material received. Tracking is issued at dispatch and shipping timelines are detailed on our shipping and returns page.
